2021 ORS RACE SERIES RULES AND REGULATIONS:
The Series’ mission is to provide incentives and opportunities for Jackson and surrounding communities to get fit and active. In the 2022 ORS Race Series, there are 11 races to participate in. Participants in each race earn points toward the series, so there is added incentive for people to compete or participate.
RULES FOR WINNING AGE-GROUP AWARDS:
Runners and walkers must participate in at least 6 events to qualify for year-end age-group awards.
You must participate in 6 of the 11 races (any distance) for Overall Series Points consideration for prizes.
Here are the ORS RACE SERIES AGE GROUPS:
Your age group is now determined by your age on the date of the first ORS RACE SERIES race completed.
RUN AGE GROUPS:
0-14, 15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-66, 67+
WALK AGE GROUPS:
0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-66, 67+
POINTS DISTRIBUTION AS FOLLOWS:
Ties are determined by the fastest 5k time.
1st place: runner/walker overall earns 20 points
2nd place: runner/walker overall earn 18
3rd place: runner/walker overall earns 16
4th place: runner/walker overall earns 14
5th place: runner/walker overall earns 12
6th place: runner/overall walker earns 10
7th place: runner/overall walker earns 8
8th place: runner/overall walker earns 6
9th place: runner/overall walker earns 4
10th place: runner/overall walker earns 2
Points are also awarded for:
Overall Masters Top 5 finishers
Grandmasters Top 5 finishers
First place overall in each age group
